UNMC Dental Hygiene students looking for patients for Mock Board Exam

Posted: Updated:

People in the panhandle have an opportunity for a free dental screening and teeth cleaning.

The CAPWN Dental Clinic is currently accepting applications for the free screenings from people over the age of 20 who have at least 20 teeth.

Lisa Moravec with the University of Nebraska Medical Center Dental Hygienist Program says the screenings are to help prepare dental hygiene students for their Clinical Board Examinations this May.

"Dental Hygienists are required to take a Clinical Board Exam, and the UNMC Dental Hygiene students are currently looking fro patients to screen to see if they would qualify for this board exam."

Those who qualify could receive free x-rays, exam and a free teeth cleaning.

Moravec says they'll be looking for patients now through the month of May.
