FreePBX provisioned Uniden SIP DECT handsets to be showcased at ITEXPO & Asterisk World Jan. 28-31

NEENAH, Wis., Jan. 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Schmooze Com Inc., maintainers of FreePBX, the world's leading Open Source PBX Platform, announced today that it has completed interoperability testing of Uniden's new EXP1240 SIP DECT line of cordless telephones.  The Uniden SIP/DECT phones are targeted towards the SMB, enterprise and retail markets and currently support up to 200 cordless users per network segment.

Uniden has worked directly with the FreePBX development staff to ensure FreePBX users, system integrators and resellers wanting to utilize the Uniden phones can easily configure them directly within the FreePBX End Point Manager.  The FreePBX End Point Manager is a commercially supported add on to FreePBX that allows users to auto provision and configure more than 250 popular desk and wireless phones, door phones, overhead paging devices, and gateways and specialty devices directly from the GUI administrator interface.

"Uniden worked along side our team as they moved into the SIP DECT mobility marketplace," said Tony Lewis, CEO of Schmooze Com Inc.  "They have a tremendous product, and we enthusiastically welcome them into the ever expanding FreePBX ecosystem."

The EXP1240 mobility platform supports seamless roaming on up to 40 DECT Access points with zero interference with other wireless networks. A single access point can support as many as eight cordless handsets and up to 200 handsets on a single network segment are supported. The color handsets support up to four lines and feature multiple codecs, over the air synchronisation, a wide band 2-way speakerphone and an integrated site survey tool for simple wireless setup.

"Uniden America Corporation is excited to be joining the FreePBX community with our Enterprise class EXP1240 SIP DECT Mobility platform," said Brett Morrison, vice president of sales and marketing for Uniden's Business Communication Systems.  "This product provides a user-friendly communications solution for most any environment."

To see the new Uniden phones using with FreePBX, REGISTRATION for Asterisk World at ITEXPO is open.
