Donor pulls $80K from Honor Flight; organizer seeks help

Posted: Updated:

Honor Flight organizers are seeking help after a donor is pumping the brakes on a pledge to help fly Nebraska veterans to Washington D.C. to visit the Korean War memorial in March.

Bill Williams of Patriotic Productions in Omaha says a donor has reduced a pledge from $100,000 to $20,000.

Williams is asking for donations to help more than 400 veterans make the trip.

He says he has three jets already paid for to carry veterans, their family members and volunteers.

But the $80,000 in reductions were needed for other expenses. The total cost of the trip is about $471,000.

Korean War Veterans will visit the memorials at the nation's capital on March 25th.
