Clifton Johnson looks to replace Johanns in U.S. Senate

Posted: Updated:

The fifth and final republican candidate aiming for Mike Johanns U.S. Senate seat wants to stand up for America.
Businessman Clifton Johnson did not participate in last week's senate debate because he had filed too late. But he says he's willing to fight to turn the U.S. back on the right path.
"I've been following politics in depth for over 20 years- screaming at the television like a lot of people," says Johnson. "And I was at a social gathering last summer and I was doing what they say not to do- talk politics. And my peers said- you look like George Washington, you even look like him- can we vote for you? I said not yet, and that launched us to get into it."
Johnson is embarking on a grassroots campaign that pushes for a smaller government and brings common sense back to Nebraska.

He says *that* starts by visiting mom and pop coffee shops across the state. "I'm going to do everything I can to get my word out here and also visit the communities."
