Village of Harrison receives USDA funding for water system improvements

Posted: Updated:

More than $3 million dollars in federal USDA funding is coming to the state of Nebraska.

A large chunk of that will be heading to the Village of Harrison.

Harrison has been awarded a $688,000 dollar grant, and a $900,000 dollar loan from the USDA Office of Rural Development.

The funds will help to improve Harrison's water system and environmental programs.

The money will be used to construct two new wells, replace existing water mains, and install new water meters.

The Nebraska Department of Economic Development is matching USDA funding with a $250,000 dollar Community Development Block Grant.

The communities of Bladen and Palisade also received USDA funds.
