Valley Ambulance Services purchases new UTV to help paramedics

Posted: Updated:

Valley Ambulance Services in Scottsbluff has added a new utility vehicle to its team that will make transporting patients from an accident to ambulance easier.

The vehicle is called the MEDLITE transport.

President of Valley Ambulance Services Randy Meininger says a big reason for the purchase is to help the Banner County Fire Department during this year's Cattlemen's ball.

He says when paramedics are on standby at special events, it can be difficult driving an ambulance on grass and responding to the scene.

The new purchase makes it easier to drive on any terrain through crowded places or in the event of disasters.

"The paramedics or EMT can sit over here and take care of the patient." Said Meininger pointing to an open space behind the driver's seat.

"Then that gets them from the area that they're at to the ambulance then the ambulance can transport them to the hospital if necessary."

He mentioned that the MEDLITE transport will also be used during the next Monument Marathon later this year.
