Rep. Smith back home during Congressional break

Posted: Updated:

With the House of Representatives on break, Nebraska Congressman Adrian Smith is back home to meet with constituents.

The District Three Representative stopped by the KOTA Territory studios to talk with Jerry Dishong about the issues.

Smith says the number one concern that Nebraskans mention is the overreach of the federal government.

He says it has been a rough go on Capitol Hill with the President threatening to use executive order if congress doesn't do what he wants it to do.

Smith says that has already been done with selectively enforcing the incredibly messy health care law.  "And that really draws a divide and builds skepticism. And we need to build have credibility between branches of government. Before we move forward on tough decisions that we know we need to make."
Smith says he expects the Supreme Court to intervene on some of the executive branch overreach stemming from some appointments that occurred during the last recess.
