SBHS host Princess for a Day for community girls

Posted: Updated:

More than 50 little girls crowded the cafeteria at Scottsbluff High School to be treated like a princess all thanks to the school's Drill team.
The Princess for a Day fundraiser took place on Saturday.

Money collected from the fundraiser goes towards the Drill team's competition expenses.

Team members painted the nails and faces of the little girls. Participants also had the chance to do what most girls like to do, play dress up.

One Drill member said the fundraiser was a way to thank the community for its support.
"I know when I was little, I'd look up to princesses and say oh my gosh, they're princesses and I'd look up to them. It's good to set a good example for the little girls to say they can be in Drill team and they can look up because I know I looked up to girls like that when I was younger." Said Celeste Calderon.
Drill team members will head to Grand Island next weekend for a competition before traveling to Orlando, Florida next month for more competitions.
