A 24-year-old Corrections Officer has been declared dead following a brutal attack from an inmate at the Scotts Bluff County Detention Center on Friday morning.

County Attorney Doug Warner says Amanda Baker died Sunday afternoon, 48 hours after she was declared brain dead.

The alleged attacker, 15-year-old Dylan Cardeilhac, will be charged with First Degree Murder.

Warner says an autopsy will be conducted on Monday.

A press release says the teen attacked Baker inside the Detention Center around 2 a.m. Friday.
