Hear how two Christian, gay authors came to different conclusions as they found faith and wrestled with their sexuality.
Loveland, Colorado (PRWEB) February 17, 2014
Lifetree Cafés from coast to coast will have open conversations on the topic of homosexuality during the week of February 23rd.
The program, titled God and Gays: An Hour of Civil Conversation, features the filmed stories of Jeff Chu, author of Does Jesus Really Love Me? A Gay Christians Pilgrimage in Search of God in America, and Christopher Yuan, author of Out of a Far Country.
Chu, raised in a Baptist church, crisscrossed America speaking with a wide range of Christian leaders about how theyre coping with the topic of homosexuality in their churches.
I understand why some conservative Christians say people with homosexual feelings shouldnt act on them, says Chu. Id hope they can understand why some of us who believe in Jesus and are seeking to live godly lives would disagree with that.
Yuan, a celibate gay man who is now a professor at Moody Bible Institute, shares his story of finding a Christian faith and wrestling with his sexuality.
God said be holy, says Yuan. Thats focusing on what we do, even though we might still be tempted.
This Lifetree program will be offered at Lifetree Café locations across the country as a way to encourage civil conversation around issues related to God and homosexuality.
Lifetree Café is a national network of venues where people gather for conversation about life and faith in a casual coffeehouse-type setting.
