RDC looking for docent volunteers

Posted: Updated:

If you have a passion for animals and enjoy interacting with people, the staff at the Riverside Discovery Center in Scottsbluff are looking for you to join their team.

The zoo will be offering five weekend training classes starting on March 8th.

Educator Kim Miedema says the sessions will teach people how to help with school programs and animal visits.

She says the only requirements are that volunteers must be 18 years or older and commit to 30 hours of volunteering a year.

"Being the only educator on staff," said Miedema. "The Riverside Discovery Center is a very small staff but we still love to have a big impact on the public and the community. So this will be a great way to share and help the community learn about wildlife and the outdoors."

Anyone interested in training may contact Kim Miedema at 308-632-2233 or kim.miedema@riversidediscoverycenter.org.
