Big improvements coming to SBHS

Posted: Updated:

Scottsbluff Public School officials are addressing a number of high school improvement plans they hope to implement in coming years.
A facility assessment by Baker and Associates details the district's master plan for high school improvements.

It calls for a number of improvements including school safety and security upgrades, a new class room wing, and a new gymnasium.

Construction is expected to take place in four phases, with the first starting as early as this summer.
"Right now we know that these things in phase-one need to get done," says Superintendent Rick Myles.  "We can't just ignore them any longer. We also are logically grouping things together.  some things need to get done when other things do to make it an efficient use of resources."
