Posted: Updated:

A former Chief Operating Officer of a panhandle hospital is now facing federal charges after getting arrested this fall on child pornography charges.

65-year-old James F. Parks is charged in a two-count indictment. Count I of the Indictment charges Parks with receipt and distribution of child pornography from at least on or about June 9, 2013 and continuing to on or about June 10, 2013.  The maximum possible penalty if convicted is imprisonment of 20 years, a $250,000 fine, supervised release for life, and a $100 special assessment.

Parks is charged in Count II of the Indictment with possession of child pornography on or about August 8, 2013. The maximum possible penalty if convicted is imprisonment of 10 years, a $250,000 fine, supervised release for life, and a $100 special assessment.

Parks was taken into custody in October by a Nebraska State Patrol Investigator after a 4-month-long investigation in which Parks possessed and shared child pornography.
