A Mitchell man accused of having more than one pound of methamphetamine in his home has had his case bound over to Scotts Bluff County District Court.

27-year-old George Valles was back in court this morning for his preliminary hearing on a charge of charge of possession of methamphetamine more than 140 grams.

Back in January, police seized more than 18 ounces of methamphetamine from a Mitchell home that Valles shared with Joseph Lowery.

Today, Investigator Matt Holcomb testified about what he saw transpire the day of the meth bust. He says that all 9 bags of the suspected drug did appear to look like methamphetamine.

Judge James Worden found that the state had met its burden to prove probable cause, and bound the case over to District Court. Valles will be arraigned on Friday.

If convicted of the Class IB felony, he would be facing a minimum of 20 years behind bars .
