Panhandle native excited for role with community's 'Call to Action Committee'

A panhandle native is excited to be named Chair of the community's 'Call to Action Committee'.
Kristin Wiebe says she's thrilled to serve as the representative for the new community improvement group.

The Call to Action Committee will address issues facing the community such as population, education, and income.

Wiebe will have a conference call with Jerry Deichert from the University of Nebraska Omaha Center for Public Affairs Research next week.

The two will look at improving Scotts Bluff County by comparing it to other counties and examining statistics.
"Looking at where to start with those statistics and where we are falling behind, where are we doing a good job and tracking progress is a big part of it." Said Wiebe.
Wiebe says the Call to Action Committee is a group that will represent the ideas of residents in western Nebraska not just a few cities or county.
