Posted: Updated:

The man convicted of a fatal crash near Minatare last September will be sentenced this morning in Scotts Bluff County District Court.

24-year-old Christopher Perry killed Bayard resident Arlyn Kreman during a drunk driving crash that occurred on Highway 26. He was convicted of motor vehicle homicide in January.

Perry told State Troopers that early that night he had been drinking beers at home, and then got into an argument with his girlfriend. He told officers that he got lost while trying to evade a pursuing car, and then woke up in a ditch. Perry adds that he does not remember the accident.

Nebraska State Troopers say that Perry had a distinct odor of alcohol on him, blood shot eyes, and was slurring his words. They also said there was a half-empty bottle of UV Cake Vodka, 6 empty beer cans, and 2 empty bottles of wine in his vehicle at the time of his crash.

Perry will be sentenced on at 10 a.m. and is facing a prison sentence ranging from 1 to 20 years.
