Two men caught with more than 15 pounds of a variety of drugs have been convicted in Cheyenne County Court.

Court documents say that on March 2nd, a Nebraska State Patrol Trooper caught an Audi speeding on Interstate 80 in Cheyenne County. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of 5.5 pounds of marijuana, 7 pounds of chocolate containing extracted THC, and 3 pounds of THC pills.

21-year-old Seth Shriver and 27-year-old Alberto Madrid were arrested. The duo was initially charged with possession of marijuana (more than one pound), possession of hashish, possession with intent to distribute, and no drug tax stamps.

The state filed an amended complaint charging each of the men with Possession of Marijuana (more than one ounce, less than one pound.) Both Shriver and Madrid pled guilty to that Class III misdemeanor. Shriver was sentenced to 19 days in jail, Madrid was sentenced to 17 days in jail.

The case also dismissed 2 counts of Deliver/Intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and no drug stamps. Each of those charges was dismissed with prejudice.
