New panhandle horseshoe throwing league off to a clinking' good start

Posted: Updated:

The sound of "ringers" filled the McKnight barn in Scottsbluff Sunday afternoon.

It was the first official gathering of the 'Iron Chuckar Horseshoe Throwing League.'

The 12-person team has been throwing horseshoes together for a few years, and league director, John Booker, says the idea to create a league was a 'no-brainer"

"A bunch of us get together and go around the panhandle throwing in horseshoe tournaments all summer long. So someone in the group decided they would like to have a league, ergo, you see before you the director of the league."

The team will participate in their first official tournament as a sanctioned league in May.
