Chadron P.D. makes sizable drug bust; seize pot, mushrooms, pills and gun

A Chadron man is facing numerous felony charges after police discover a large amount of drugs while making routine business building checks.

Around 4 a.m. Monday, Chadron Police found an open door to Main Street business 'Game Changer'.  While inside the business officers found what they suspected to be marijuana lying out in the open in view of the officers. The officers cleared the business and subsequently served four search warrants on the business premise and a vehicle over the course of about ten hours.

Officer found approximately seven (7) ounces of suspected marijuana, suspected psilocybin mushrooms, a brownish colored wax suspected of containing high concentration of THC, scales (three electronic scales other postage scale), packaging materials (plastic baggies/zip lock baggies, rolling papers, marijuana grinders), a hydrocodone prescription pill, two cell phones, approximately $1,000 cash, a loaded 38 caliber pistol, suspected marijuana pipes, and other containers used to hold suspected marijuana.

Officers arrested 28 year old Samuel "Adam" Widger for possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of psilocybin mushrooms, possession of a controlled substance (hydrocodone) and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

The Chadron Police Department was assisted by the Dawes County Attorney's Office, the Dawes County Sheriff's Department, the Nebraska State Patrol and the WING HIDTA Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, which is partially funded through a grant from the Nebraska Crime Commission.
