Panhandle Sports Love Story Goes National

It was a very huge weekend for the Nebraska basketball programs. The women claiming the Big Ten Tournament title for the first time in history defeating Iowa. Then the men earning a huge upset win over nationally ranked Wisconsin.

However no one in the program was as big a winner as the first couple in Panhandle basketball.

Hemingford grad Shelby Campbell and Alliance grad Mike Peltz are getting married.
Peltz who was playing his final home game with the Huskers proposed to Shelby during last night's game.

Since then it has been a whirlwind 24 hours for the couple from interviews on ESPN, Good Morning American, Sports Illustrated and other national media organizations to friends across the state.
Despite all the media attention the two are still on cloud nine.
