Minatare man convicted on 2 meth distribution charges

Posted: Updated:

It took a jury a little more than 40 minutes to find a 60-year-old Minatare man guilty of two separate counts of distribution of methamphetamine.

All 12 jurors found George Schaneman guilty this morning in Scotts Bluff County Court.

Court Documents say that in May of last year, Schaneman sold meth to undercover informants working with the WING Drug Task Force.

He was arrested on the charges in December, and had pleaded not guilty.

Sentencing has been set for April 22nd at 8:30 a.m. in Scotts Bluff County District Court. Each count carries a prison sentence ranging from 1 - 50 years. Schaneman was convicted of a similar charge back in 1990, and served nearly two years in the Nebraska Department of Corrections.
