After Lyman teen fatality, efforts to curb underage drinking surge

Posted: Updated:

In the wake of yet another alcohol related teen fatality, one KOTA Territory community leader is pointing the finger back at whomever is providing the alcohol.

Monument Prevention Coalition Director Lanette Richards says underage drinking is an epidemic plaguing our communities.  She wants adults - the legal purchasers of alcohol -  to see that proving alcohol to minors is wrong.

She says that a single alcohol related fatality is one to many. "Kids will be kids," explains Richards. "But adults have to step up to the plate and be an adult. Under 21 is not to drink."

19-year-old Kaylie Haun of Torrington was killed in a drunk driving accident last Friday night.
