Candidate for Nebraska Legislative seat holds meet and greet tonight

Posted: Updated:

A Scottsbluff attorney is ready to kickoff his campaign for a seat in the Nebraska legislature.
Democrat Mike Meister is having a launch party tonight at his Scottsbluff firm on Broadway.

He hopes to replace Senator John Harms who is being ousted by term limits.

Meister says he wants the chance to meet with residents in the 48th District to explain how he can best represent them and to listen to their concerns.

He says he's been an advocate for people for 22 years by serving as an attorney and also spending time in the United States Army.

Meister says he understands how to get things done, especially working with people in the eastern part of the state.

"I really think we need to work hard to build alliances to get the things done that we need out here. A lot of those things include the Heartland Expressway, interest in infrastructure...that will go then to produce good paying jobs."
Meister's meet and greet starts at 5 p.m. and runs until 8 p.m. at 1906 Broadway.
