New restaurant set to open in Mitchell on Tuesday

Posted: Updated:

A Mitchell resident is making her dream come true this week with the grand opening of a new restaurant.
Co-owner Becky Reisig-Tower is set to open her restaurant "Becky's" on Tuesday to people around the panhandle.

She says the family-friendly place will serve home-cooked meals from her grandmother's and mother's recipes.

Menu items include fried steaks, stuffed burgers, homemade desserts and breads.

The new location is replacing the former restaurant The Feed Barn. Tower says she was approached back in January to be in a restaurant partnership.

She says she's excited and a little nervous for her big day but the support from the community has eased some stressed.
"So far on Facebook, we have 641 likes so I think I'm liked...I hope so," Tower laughed. "I just want to bring good food to the community. Somewhere you can go and you can bring your kids and enjoy our food, relax, good food for good people."
Tower says part-time and full-time help for wait staff and kitchen cooks is still needed.

The grand opening on Tuesday starts at 11 a.m.

Tower says right now she plans on serving lunch and dinner on Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays will be dedicated to brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Tower has worked for several years as the head chef for Morrill Public Schools and the Scottsbluff Country Club.
