Scottsbluff City Council approves Children's Learning Garden landscaping plan

Posted: Updated:

The Scottsbluff Public Library could be seeing their Children's Learning Garden as early as this summer.
The Scottsbluff City Council met last night to approve a $6,500 landscaping plan for the new garden.

Assistant City Manager Nathan Johnson says that the goal of the garden is to promote education and believes the garden will accomplish that in several ways.
"This will help incorporate children into touch, feel and smell different plants to get their sensory awareness involved at an early age and to continually educate from a young age," says Johnson.
The council voted unanimously on the approval of the garden and library Director Abby Yellman says she is anxious to move forward.
