Man convicted in Sidney murder faces sentencing this afternoon

A California man convicted of murder will be sentenced to life in prison this afternoon for the 2012 shooting of a Sidney man.

In January, 35 - year - old Jason Custer was found guilty for the murder of Adam McCormick.
Law enforcement officers say the men were arguing over drug money in November of 2012 when Custer fatally shot McCormick in the abdomen and leg.

It took a jury one full week to convict him of first degree murder, use of a firearm to commit a felony and possession of a firearm by a felon.
 
Custer will not be eligible for parole, and will spend the rest of his life behind bars in the Nebraska State Penitentiary.
