Rabies vaccination clinic scheduled to combat Goshen County outbreak

A recent outbreak of rabies in Goshen County has veterinarians urging local residents to be proactive and vaccinate their pets.
 
Many cases of rabies have been confirmed in Goshen County in recent months.

Doctor Mike Meeboer at the Goshen Veterinary Clinic says, historically, rabies has been a rarity in Goshen County and is found much more frequently in Western Wyoming.  However, the disease has been spreading East in recent years.

Numerous skunks have tested positive for the disease in the past 6 months, including one that was captured at a Goshen County School.

Local veterinarians have scheduled a community wide vaccination clinic for Saturday, April 12th at the Fairground Pavilion inTorrington from 9 a.m. until Noon. Price will be $5 each forsmall animals and  $10 each for livestock.
