Last week of voting for Union Burger in Nebraska's Best Burger Contest

Posted: Updated:

A panhandle hamburger has made it to the final round of a state-wide burger contest.
The Union Bar's 'Union Burger' is a top five finalist in the Nebraska Beef Council's Best Burger Contest.

The contest rates burgers from across the state and picks one to be named "Nebraska's Best Burger."

Top Five burgers were selected through an online-voting process.

The ultimate winner will be selected through another online-voting session as well as a judge's tasting panel, where judges will anonymously visit each of the top five eateries and taste the contending burgers.

Union Bar Owner Scott Swanson says he thinks the Union Burger has all the right ingredients to be crowned the winner.
"The Union Burger is two-thirds of a pound of hand-pattied ground beef, never frozen. Its got onion strips and Jalapeno strips breaded on it, three slices of cheese, two American and one Swiss on an onion Kaiser bun."
This is the second year the Union Bar has entered the contest, last year's 'Diet Burger' also made it to the top five.

Voting in the final round of the contest ends Monday, March 31.
