Posted: Updated:

After serving as a state lawmaker for the past eight years, Pete Pirsch looks to the next level of his political career.
Omaha Senator Pete Pirsch hopes to become Nebraska's next Attorney General following Jon Bruning's candidacy for governor.

Pirsch was a criminal prosecutor for a decade in Douglas County before becoming a state senator.
He also served with Bruning on the Nebraska Crime Commission.

Pirsch says his experience makes him a perfect fit to serve as the next Attorney General.
"I've passed a high volume of crime bills in the Nebraska legislature that has made Nebraska families safe. This attorney general position is a way that I can leverage my experience and my passion and protect even more Nebraska families."
Pirsch faces three Republican opponents in the May primary, and two democrats have also filed for the position.
