FCC approves sale of KOTA Territory TV

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has approved the sale of KOTA-TV and KDUH-TV from Duhamel Broadcasting Enterprises to Schurz Communications, Inc.

The sale was announced at the end of October, but it requiredthe FCC approval to make it final.

Schurz will take over operations on April 28th.

The Duhamel family has owned the TV operation since KOTA-TV signed on in 1955. And it will continue to operate several radio stations.

Schurz Communications already operates several local radio stations in the Rapid City area.

Lia Green, who will be thegeneral manager for both the local TV and radio stations thanked Bill Duhameland everyone else who helped to make the sale happen.
