Authorities arrest man for knife attack

Local law enforcement officers were busy in the early hours of Saturday morning following an alleged knife attack.

Scotts Bluff County Sheriff Deputies arrested 36-year-old Willis Makesroomforthem on charges of 2nd Degree Assault, Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony, and Theft of a Motor Vehicle.

Court Documents say that at around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, a pickup was stolen from a Gering resident. About 15 minutes later, the truck was found abandoned in the intersection of M and 10th Street in Gering. Officers from the Gering Police Department found blood in the vehicle and a bloody kitchen knife on the floorboard.

Deputies went to the vehicle owner's home, and saw drops of blood on the floor. The people living there said that Makesroomforthem got into a verbal argument, before going to the kitchen to get a knife to attack one of the females living there.A man tried to intervene and got stabbed in the arm.

Makesroomforthem then took the keys to the truck and drove off.

Gering Police Officers had apprehended Makesroomforthem at the Pony Express and arrested him.

He will be arraigned on the charges at 1:30 this afternoon in Scotts Bluff County Court.
