The man who escaped from a Wyoming Prison work camp, and then got into a scuffle with Nebraska authorities is set to go to trial tomorrow in Scotts Bluff County District Court.

A jury is being selected for the one day trial of 26-year-old Adrian Sosa.

Sosa is being charged with felon in possession of a firearm, 2 counts of assault on a police officer, and resisting arrest.

Court documents say Sosa left the Volunteers of America program through the Wyoming Department of Corrections on October 12th, 2013 and was listed as an escapee.

On December 9th, investigators with the Scottsbluff Police Department and WING Drug Task Force were able to corner Sosa at the Scottsbluff Safeway.

In the store, investigators contacted Sosa, and noticed him holding onto his waistline with one hand. He tried to run away after police told him to get on the ground. Two of the officers grabbed Sosa and wrestled him to the ground, and a gun was taken from Sosa's hand .

One of the officers was punched in the head by Sosa and later scratched. He was also grabbed by the mouth by Sosa causing his lip to crack. A second officer was kicked in the genitals.

They also found a bag with methamphetamine in it.

District Judge Leo Dobrovolny says that there will be a sequestered jury, meaning they will not leave until they come back with a verdict following Tuesday's trial.
