DOVES program talks about sexual assault awareness through creative contest

Posted: Updated:

April is sexual assault awareness month and throughout the panhandle members of the DOVES program are talking about healthy sexuality through a creative contest.
Scottsbluff DOVES program executive director Hilary Wasserburger says the contest -- which is geared towards college students -- allows students to talk about consent.

They will use there fingers to come up with creative messages about healthy sexuality.

Wassaburger says the purpose of the contest strengthens messages of sexual violence prevention and to talk about consent and respect.
"We're asking them to have fun with it and be creative. We really want it to be a positive conversation. There's a lot of unhealthy examples in the community but we really want to have a positive conversation about consent," said Wassaburger.
The contest ends April 25th. More information can be found on the DOVES program Facebook page at
