Gering motorcoach operator selling business

Posted: Updated:

After months of dealing with federal red tape, a Gering business owner has decided to sell his motorcoach business.

Kevin Stocker, CEO and owner of Denver Coach and AmeriStar Motorcoaches has announced that he has reached a point in his life where its a time for change.

Back in December, the U.S. Department of Transportation ordered AmeriStar/Denver Coach to stop running after claiming the company operated with a non-compliant driver.

In a December 2013 interview, Stocker says it was a paper error and not an operational error. He filed an appeal and has submitted a safety management plan to solve the issue.

Four months later, he is still at a standstill.

Stocker says both of these businesses have been consistent moneymakers in the past and will be in the future. He hopes to sell the company and keep its services available to people living in Western Nebraska.
