A Panhandle man has been accused of driving a car at speeds of nearly 100 mph.

42-year-old Brandon J. Pate was arrested Tuesday after the Gering Police Department clocked his vehicle going 98 miles per hour in a 40 mile per hour zone.

The officer says Pate's vehicle was running other cars off the road.

Police say Pate also had a small amount of marijuana and a glass pipe in his pockets at the time of the arrest.

Pate faces charges of speeding, willful reckless driving and no proof of insurance. He also faces drug charges. A pretrial conference has been scheduled for May 13th at 10:15 in Scotts Bluff County Court Room #1.
