Veteran's Home robber slated to be back in court today

The man accused of stealing from a resident at the Western Nebraska Veteran's Home is scheduled to make his first appearance in Scotts Bluff County District Court on Friday afternoon.

32 – year – old Curtis Soester is facing a felony robbery after allegedly taking a wallet belonging to David Bixler.

During his preliminary hearing, Scotts Bluff County Attorney Doug Warner showed the crime- which was caught on camera. It clearly shows a man sneaking up behind Bixler while he was smoking a cigarette snatch his chain wallet and flee. Scottsbluff Police Captain Brian Wasson testified on how police used surveillance video to catch the culprit.

While Soester was being arrested, they found the driver's license belonging to Bixler, and Soester also told police where they could find the keys to Bixler's safe deposit box.
