Two hotels, Love's truck stop coming to Sidney interstate

A city in the southern panhandle is expanding its hospitality and travel services.

Exit 59 off interstate 80 at Sidney will soon be filled with construction workers.

Plans are in the works to add two more hotels and a truck stop.

Sidney Public Works Director, John Hehnke, says a "Love's" truck stop will be opening south of Holiday Inn.

He says two more hotels will also be constructed in the area, one north of Runza, and the other near the Cabela's headquarters.

Hehnke says hotel rooms in Sidney are always in high demand.
"We never seem to have enough hotel rooms here in Sidney whether its for all of the vendors that come in for Cabela's corporate of other businesses here in town, or when unfortunately the interstate closes and we have all the travelers that are looking for motel rooms."
Hehnke says the Sidney projects should be done late this year or early next year.
