Posted: Updated:
A Sidney woman has pleaded no contest to a charge of  helping her husband kill himself and then hiding his body.

53-year-old Deann Kimble entered the plea to a single charge of Assisting Suicide today in Cheyenne County District Court.

Deputies said Kimble promised 61-year-old Russell Kimble that she would not intervene when he decided it was "his time to die."

On Saturday, March 22nd Russell rolled himself in a shower curtain and used a youth-sized shotgun to end his life. At the time, Deann went into their van, turned the volume up on the radio and listened to two songs. When she went back, she knew Russell was deceased. Deann Kimble then wrapped his body is a shower curtain and sheet and buried him in a shallow grave.

Kimble could face up to 5 years in jail for this Class IV felony. Sentencing is scheduled for June 12 at 9:30 a.m..  A separate charge for Concealing Human Skeletal Remains, also a class IV felony, was dismissed as part of a plea agreement.  There are no agreements regarding sentencing.
