Transmission line project open house enters round two

Posted: Updated:
It has been a hot topic for a while now. The second open house for the transmission line project took place yesterday.

Landowners were invited to attend the open house for a new Nebraska Public Power District electric transmission line. The line will be 23 miles long coming out of the Scottsbluff substation into a new substation that will be built five miles south of Stegall.

This was the second open house for NPPD to get feedback from locals. NPPS's Terry Warth says that reaching out to the public is the best way to move forward.

"And we take this approach because the landowner comments that we receive are very valuable as to making that decision where ultimately the line will be located," says Warth.

If all goes as planned, the line is expected to be in service by summer of 2017.
