Construction vehicles moving in to begin work on Chadron storm water project

Orange traffic cones are being set up, and construction equipment is moving in to Chadron, as the city's storm water project is taking off this week.

The project will start on first week, and eventually run six blocks to Main Street.

The project calls for an overhaul of the storm sewer system, which will include a new storm water system, sanitary sever system, and new water mains.

City Manager Wayne Anderson says the project is expected to run through July, but he says it shouldn't interrupt Chadron Fur Trade Days.

Anderson says the construction project is the first of many this Spring that will give Chadron a much needed face-lift.
"I think its encouraging, people's out look is good, we're seeing progress. Different companies are moving into town building and construction, so again, we're encouraged by things going on."
The storm water project is part of the multi-phase the Highway 20 overhaul project.
