New "codRED" Notification System to be used in Scottsbluff

The Scottsbluff Public School District has announced a new system that they hope will make a difference during emergencies.

An emergency notification system called CodeRED has been introduced in an effort to get the word out during any crisis situation at Scottsbluff schools.

The system allows anyone in the public to receive a notification via text, email, voice, or mobile app if an emergency occurs.

Scottsbluff Public Schools communications specialist Melissa Price says that it is a valuable tool for the community.

"We feel that there is value for other businesses, other individuals who may be located near our schools, other childcare organizations or other schools in the area that may want to be notified in the event that we have some sort of an emergency at one of our schools," says Price.
