Pete Ricketts says he's the best candidate to 'Grow Nebraska'

Posted: Updated:
Omaha businessman Pete Ricketts says he has traveled more than 32,000 miles across the state campaigning to be Nebraska's next Governor.

Ricketts says the fundamental question in the gubernatorial race is how to grow Nebraska.

"That falls into three categories," Ricketts says. "Improving educational outcomes for our kids, especially though vocational training. Growing the economy, especially agriculture, and I've got a plan for doing that, and then creating more and better paying jobs here. And that's done by just getting out of our own way by reducing legislation and cutting taxes."

Ricketts says he's the only candidate in the race that has built a small Nebraska business into a big one, he says he knows how to make payroll, manage costs, and invest wisely, thus making him the best candidate to 'Grow Nebraska.'

"If you think about it, we've done a good job on keeping a lid on taxes and spending. Now, its time to build on that foundation and take it to the next level. To do that, you need somebody that's got fresh perspectives and new ideas, a track record of success in the private sector, a real world conservative, and I am that candidate."
