Gun pulled during Scottsbluff car wash argument

Posted: Updated:
A Scotts Bluff County man is arrested after an argument at a local car wash escalates.

On Saturday morning, Talon Cotton called the Communication Center saying he pulled a gun on an angry customer who was aggressively coming at him.

When police arrived, they talked to the aggressor- who was later identified as 42-year-old Jamlec Martinez. Martinez says a lady cut in front of his vehicle in the car wash line, and he got into a verbal argument.

Cotton- who was washing his car in one of the stalls- intervened and became involved in the argument. Shortly after, Martinez got in his vehicle and accelerated quickly towards Cotton. Cotton was forced to put his arms out and make an evasive move to avoid getting run over.

Cotton ran away, and Martinez jumped from his vehicle and began to pursue Cotton on foot. After police watched security footage, Martinez was placed under arrest for attempted second degree assault and disorderly conduct.
