A guide for those voting tomorrow

Posted: Updated:
With the Nebraska primary election taking place tomorrow, many voters may still have unanswered questions.

Here is some basic information for anyone planning on voting.

  • Voter registration is required to be eligible to vote in the state of Nebraska, except during presidential elections.
  • Each voter must cast their ballot at their assigned polling place.
  • If you do not know where your assigned polling area is, contact the election office at 308-436-6653.
  • You do not need your voting card to vote.
Scotts Bluff County Clerk Vera Dulaney says that the process of voting itself is fairly simple.

"They need to go to their precinct location and when they're there, they announce their name and address and political affiliation to the first clerk that they encounter at the precinct and then that individual will help guide the person through the procedure, give them the correct ballot, and supervise the overall voting process," says Dulaney.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Dulaney says there is typically a busy rush of people before work, during the lunch hour, and after work.

Tomorrow night starting at seven, you can find live election updates from all of the panhandle county wide races here at kotanow.com.
