Nebraska ballot filled with statewide races

Most attention in Nebraska's primary election is focused on races for governor, U.S. Senate and Congress but there are other contested races.
Four Republicans and two Democrats are vying to become the next attorney general succeeding Jon Bruning, who is running for governor.

Two Republicans are contesting the primary for state auditor and the winner will face Democratic Sen. Amanda McGill in the November general election.

Republican state Treasurer Don Stenberg is seeking another four-year term and faces one GOP challenger. One Democrat and a Libertarian also are running for the position.
Of the 49 seats in the Legislature, 25 are up for election. There are a number of competitive primary races because term limits removed one-third of lawmakers.
