Man gets arrested, woman goes into labor

Posted: Updated:
It was a peculiar turn of events on 1st Avenue in Scottsbluff on Thursday afternoon, after a man gets arrested while his passenger was going into labor.

Around 4:30 p.m., a Scottsbluff Police Officer noticed 25-year-old Joshua Bordeaux driving and knew his driving privileges have been revoked.

Bordeaux claimed the only reason he was driving is because his wife is pregnant and that she was currently breaching. E.M.T.s arrived on scene, but a family friend arrived to drive the woman to the hospital. The officer that first saw Bordeaux driving says that he had witnessed him 30 minutes earlier driving in the opposite direction of the hospital.

Scotts Bluff County Communications center says that Bordeaux has had five prior driving under suspension offenses since 2010, and was placed under arrest on the charge of Driving Under Suspension (3rd or Greater).

Officer Steve Lopez says as soon as Bordeaux gets processed, he could get bailed out to get to the hospital for the birth of the child.
