Kids gearing up for summer vacation

Posted: Updated:
It has been a busy school year for students across the region, and today, middle school students at Community Christian School celebrate the last school day of the year.

We caught up with sixth and seventh graders at their school in Scottsbluff, and they tell us what they are looking forward to doing during the next three months.

"I'm excited to just spend more time with my friends and more time with God," says 6th grader Sydnie Willey.

7th grader Quentin Munoz adds, "Mostly hunting and fishing and spending more time with my friends."

"Well I want to sleep in until noon," shares 7th grader Alexis Valde, "And then I want to wake up and I want to go rip-stick with my friends."

7th grader Taeden Steele adds that it has been an unusually busy school year- and also her first "It has been pretty busy and I'm glad the end is coming- it will be fun."

Steele was home-schooled for the past seven years- and this will truly be her first summer vacation. However she says she will have about two weeks of relaxation, and then home schooling will resume in June.
