Trial date set for man accused of sending naked photos to Alliance girl

The man accused of sending a nude photograph to a 15-year-old Alliance girl is set to go to trial in September.

35-year-old William Christopher Pritchard, of Scottsbluff, was arraigned Friday afternoon in Scotts Bluff County District Court on a charge of enticement by electronic communication device, a Class IV Felony.

On April 28, 2014, the 15-year-old girl’s mother contacted the Alliance Police Department after she found text messages and a picture on her daughter's phone that were sent from a number belonging to Pritchard. The text messages included a full-frontal nude photo of Pritchard, who is already listed on the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry.

Today in court, Pritchard pleaded not guilty to the charge. Attorney Darrin Knepper asked for the $75,000 bond to be reduced to an O.R. bond. He stated that Pritchard has local ties, and his family relies on his food stamp eligibility as a source of income.

Attorney Scott Blaha countered that Pritchard already has previous convictions of sexual assault of a child, and two sex offender registration violations in Box Butte County. Judge Randall Lippstreu said the bond will remain, and set the matter to go to pretrial conference on August 20th, and to go to trial in the jury term that begins on September 2nd.
