Court date for Hawk Springs restaurant shooter continued

The man charged with attempted first degree murder following a Goshen County restaurant shooting on April 26th now has legal representation.

A preliminary hearing for William Schlager has been continued in Goshen Circuit Court until May 27th. However, it has been announced that he is will be represented by Mitch Guthrie from the Public Defender’s Office in Cheyenne.

Prosecutors say that Schlager shot Timothy Toedter outside the Emporium restaurant, before leading authorities on a high speed chase on Highway 85.
Toedter was paralyzed as a result of the injuries.

Schlager is also being charged with:  Use of a firearm while committing a felony, Attempted robbery, Aggravated assault and Use of a firearm by a felon .
