Boyfriend of teen who died in drunk driving accident arrested for aiding and abetting M.I.P.

The boyfriend of the late Kaylie Haun is being charged with aiding and abetting MIP in Scotts Bluff County Court.

In March, the 19-year-old E.W.C. student  was killed in a single vehicle rollover accident near Lyman. The Scotts Bluff County's Sheriff's Office believed that alcohol was a factor in the crash, and an investigation began.

In court documents filed on April 29th, the state filed charges against 24-year-old Stetson Allen. Through the investigation, authorities were able to determine that Allen had purchased the alcohol for Haun for the January 17th birthday celebration. County Attorney Doug Warner says he feels the January  charge will be provable in court... but was not comfortable to file charges against anyone for the fatal March incident.

Allen was slated to be arraigned on the Class III misdemeanor this morning in Scotts Bluff County Court. If convicted, he would be facing up to 3 months in county jail, a $500 fine, or both.

This isn't Allen's first involvement with a drunk driving fatality. He was one of the passengers in the January, 2013 double fatal crash on Highway 92 in Wyoming that claimed the lives of Hallie Anderson and Alexis Wheeler. Driver Ethan Kaufman was convicted on numerous charges and sentenced to 27 to 50 years in prison.
